Description

Vegetative characteristics

The species of the genus Aichryson are either one - to three-year, single or sparsely to densely branched monokarpe growing herbaceous plants ( section Aichryson ) or bald, almost bald or hairy, branched arching perennial small shrubs ( section Macrobia ). The densely hairy or bald shoots reach at the base diameter between 3 and 12 mm. You are ascending or spreading, forked or branched widely spreaded. The branches are sometimes slightly woody. The simple, alternate, near the shoot tips often rosettigen leaves are stalked sitting or clear. Your ovate, obovate, plaster trowel -shaped, rhombic or wrong plaster trowel -shaped leaf blade is more or less distinctly succulent. The Spreitenspitze is blunt, rounded or somewhat pointed, wedge-shaped, narrowed or trimmed. The often purple colored leaf margin is entire or slightly notched tiny. He is bald, hairy or nearly glabrous significantly. He rarely is glandular hairy and sticky.

The roots are fibrous.

Inflorescences and flowers

The seated at the shoot tips inflorescence is loose and occasionally something ebensträußig. The thread- thin flower stem is from 2 to 20 millimeters long. The 6 - to 12 -fold flowers achieve diameter between 6 and 16 millimeters. Your bald or hairy sepals are fused fleshy and basal. The pale or deep yellow petals are lanceolate, elliptical or ovoid and occasionally have a mounted Spitzchen.

The thread-like stamens are free. The cylindrical anthers are yellowish. There are twice as many stamens as petals. The elongated Nektarschüppchen have a length of 0.5 to 0.9 mm and a width of 0.4 to 0.6 millimeters. They are 2 - to 5 -column and a wedge. The yellowish carpels are basally recessed into the base of the flower. They are provided glabrous or with a few glandular hairs. There are as many carpels as there are petals.

Seed

The seeds are brownish warty to ribbed.
