Aiguá is a city in Uruguay.
Geography
It is located in the north of the department of Maldonado about 90 kilometers from the capital of the department of the same name, with which it is connected via the Ruta 39. The city area is part of the nearly 514 -meter-high Cerro Catedral is the highest point of Uruguay. The distance Aiguas for Uruguayan capital, Montevideo, to which one is connected via the Ruta 13 and 8, is 178 kilometers. This is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains. History
Aiguá was founded in 1892 by Margarita Muniz. 1906 was obtained the status of a " pueblo ". 50 years later was the granting of city status '. The city's name comes from the Guarani and means as much as " flowing water".
