Air Burkina

Air Burkina is an airline based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and based on the Ouagadougou airport.

History

Air Burkina adopted on March 17, 1967 under the name Air Volta as a joint venture of the Burkinabe government, the French airline Union des Transports Aériens between private investors and the flight operations. Shortly after the Revolution of 1983 sankaristischen Air Volta was largely nationalized and changed - as a result of the renaming of the country from Upper Volta to Burkina Faso - its name to Air Burkina.

Air Burkina is flying a total of 13 airports in eleven countries. Since the partial privatization of Air Burkina has expanded its route network massively and now offers regular flights between the West African cities Abidjan, Accra, Bamako, Bobo-Dioulasso, Cotonou, Dakar, Lome, Niamey and Ouagadougou and between these cities and Paris.
