Airport (MBTA-Station)

Airport Station is an underground station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's South Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides the access to Logan International Airport Blue Line.

History

The station was first opened on 5 January 1952, at the beginning of the 21st century for 23 million U.S. dollars 500 ft (152.4 m) east of the original building built.

Track, signaling and safety systems

Metro Station has a total of two tracks, which are accessible via two side platforms. Change at the station Airport vehicles of the Blue Line from the power supply via the catenary for the power rail and vice versa.

Building

The underground station is in the immediate vicinity of the airport at the Porter Street and is completely accessible, the station meets all requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Surroundings

At the station there is a shuttle bus connections to several of the MBTA, connect the airport, among others, with the ferries of Massport and the station to the terminals, where connection is made to the Silver Line.
