Airstream
Airstream Inc. is an American manufacturer of Greater caravan.
History
In the 1930s, Wally Byam had the idea to a spacious caravan, which should be enough light that it could be drawn from any standard car. He founded the Airstream Manufacturing Company and built a prototype. The outer shell was made entirely for reasons of weight in unpainted aluminum, which has been retained in the later production models. Because of this silvery metallic appearance, the caravan got the nickname "silver rocket" or " shekel ". Some models were built almost unchanged until the 1960s.
2006 Airstream celebrated its 75th anniversary and began to manufacture specially developed for Europe products. These include a 230 -volt AC; Chassis, axles and drawbar are made in Germany. The car is approximately 500 kg lighter than the U.S. version.
Since 2010 Airstream also offers official snack vehicles in Europe. These are based on the European models of Airstream Airstream 534 and 684 In contrast to the converted versions of mainstream U.S. Airstreams are these cars from the ground up as planned sale of vehicles. These were the German importer Roka work - presented as Airstream Airstream Germany Diner at Internorga 2010.
