Jackson Center is a village in Shelby County, Ohio, United States. It is located in the northeast of the County. Jackson Center is located on Ohio State Route 65 and Ohio State Route 274 Up to Interstate 75 is 7 miles ( 11 km ). Until the Indian Lake is 10 miles ( 16 km), according to Wapakoneta and Sidney is 15 miles (24 km).

History

Jackson Center was founded on May 4, 1835, 24 buildings. At the time, a general store, a blacksmith, a shoemaker and a "hotel ", as well as some other shops were established in the place. The first church was built in 1838 by the Methodists. In June 1895 Bank was founded under the name of The Farmer's & Merchants Bank. It was renamed in 1907 in First National Bank of Jackson.

Population

The population was 1,369 inhabitants at the census in 2000.

Economy and infrastructure

Since 1952, the Greater caravan manufacturer Airstream is located in Jackson Center.
