Al-Amir bi-Ahkami'l-Lah

Al -Amir (Arabic الآمر بأحكام الله al -Amir bi- Ahkamillah, DMG al - Aamir bi- Ahkami 'l- Lah; * 1096, † 1130) was the tenth Fatimid Caliph.

Like his father al - Mustali (reigned 1094-1101 ) was al -Amir after the survey Caliph of the Fatimids under the control of al - Afdal Shahanshah regent (r. 1094-1121 ) and had little impact on policy. However, after the fall of al - Afdal ( 1121 ), he managed to take over the government. This was, however, affected by the loss of the supporting point of Tyre to the Crusaders ( 1124 ). In addition, the split between the Nizariten / Assassin and Musta'liten within the Ismailis continued to smolder. These tensions culminated in the assassination of al -Amir by Assassin on October 7, 1130.

Since no direct heir was available, this led to new power struggles among the Fatimids, where with al - Hafiz (reigned 1130-1149 ) was able to assert a cousin of al -Amir.
