Al Sufouh Tramway
The tram Dubai is a building under construction tram project in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
In January 2009, United Arab Emirates has begun the construction of a first tram line in the United. The line will run through the As Sufuh Street in the district of Jumeirah from Metro Station Mall of the Emirates, then north einbiegend over Madinat Jumeirah and the west in the high-rise buildings in Dubai Marina, and Jumeirah Lake Towers. At the end of the connecting flight to Dubai Metro is restored. In between, the tram will offer the level of the Palm Jumeirah, the connecting flight to the new Dubai Monorail, which controls the first artificial Palm Island to the hotel complex Atlantis, The Palm. At the tram route are, inter alia, the work in the expanding Dubai Media City, to the future skyscrapers of their other quarters Dubai Pearl come.
An international consortium led by the French Alstom was contracted to implement the first phase of the tramway to April 2011; the appointment was at first, then moved due to construction delays in the wake of the financial crisis in early 2010 to the end of 2012 to 2014. The first section is to extend over 9.5 kilometers with nine stops. A later extension will add more 5 km with six stations. A 44 meter long road train driver controlled can carry up to 300 passengers per hour, up to 5000 people are being transported.
