Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is a district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, approximately 25 kilometers southwest of the city center.

The district is in the final stage (depending on definition) between 75,000 to 150,000 people to accommodate and include about 200 skyscrapers and tall buildings. The approximately 4 square kilometers - including the water areas - large complex since spring 2010 connected to the Dubai Metro with two stations.

Dubai Marina is located about 25 kilometers southwest of the city center on Dubai's Interchange 5 to Dubai Marina Jumeirah Beach Residence, one of the largest apartment and holiday resorts in the world with nearly 40 high-rise buildings belongs.

The Dubai Marina is named after a nearly four kilometer long man-made canal, where the curving river walks next to a large marina and several smaller boat mooring facilities numerous restaurants, cafes and shops, and a shopping center are decorated with around 120,000 square meters of retail space.

Especially in the southern stretch of beach in Dubai Marina, the altered coastline and the resulting new flow conditions lead to problems with coastal erosion. In a relatively short time, several meters of beach were washed out to sea. A higher superior coverage of the shore with heavy rocks to prevent further removal of material.

On 8 November 2007 collapsed in one of the under construction bridge to the inner Dubai Marina and called for 15 fatalities. The cause of the collapse remains unclear to date.

Skyscraper

In the Dubai Marina has been producing since 2003, the 200 high-rise buildings and skyscrapers. Most solitaires are 130-200 meters in the medium-high range with some skyscrapers over 300 meters.

These skyscrapers above 300 meters in height are located in the formation (but in some the work is due to economic difficulties currently stopped):

  • Cayan Tower: With 307 meters, it will be the tallest skyscraper that takes a 90- degree rotation.
  • Princess Tower: This sleek tower will be the tallest residential building temporarily in the world with 414 meters.
  • 23 Marina: In this 395 -meter tower will accommodate 57 swimming pools.
  • Dream Dubai Marina: With 432 meters, the highest " serviced apartment " buildings in the world.
  • Elite Residence: Should be 380 meters high.
  • Ocean Heights: 310 meters high.
  • The Pentominium: If you want to 516 meters, the highest tower in the Dubai Marina.
  • DAMAC Heights, 420 meter tall residential buildings.
