Al Waxman

Albert " Al " Samuel Waxman, CM, O.Ont ( born March 2, 1935 in Toronto, Ontario, † January 18, 2001 ) was a Canadian actor and director. His pseudonym was Stan Ferris.

Life

Waxman came from a Jewish immigrant family from Poland. Since the age of twelve he worked for the Canadian radio station CBC / Radio -Canada as a spokesperson for radio plays and radio productions. In 1959, he received several small roles in various television productions. The general public, he was with the figure of Larry King, the King of Kensington known. For this illustration, a life-size statue of him was erected in memory on the Kensington Market in Toronto. In German-speaking he was the role of Lt. Bert Samuels known in the series Cagney & Lacey.

His work as a director included several television productions, especially individual series sets between 1969 and 1994. In 1996 he was awarded the Order of Canada for his work to promote the performing arts. During his career he won the 1997 Canadian Television Award and Gemini Award in 1998 for his life's work the Earle Grey Award.

Waxman died in 2001 of a heart attack. He was married and had two sons.
