Alabama State Route 116

The Alabama State Route 116 (abbreviated AL 116 ) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Alabama, which runs in an east - west direction.

The State Route 17 begins north of Emelle at the Alabama State Route and ends at Gainesville at the Alabama State Route 39

History

Between 1947 and 1955, the AL was 116 initially between Cottondale and Bucksville in Tuscaloosa County. This route but was downgraded to 1955 County Route 28. Eight years later, the number 116 in 1963 was awarded again and replaced the County Route 26, since there were no more changes in the course.
