Alabama State Route 177

The Alabama State Route 177 (abbreviated AL 177 ) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Alabama, which runs in a north -south direction.

The State Route begins on U.S. Highway 43 south of Jackson and ends after five kilometers back north of Jackson on U.S. 43 The AL 177 is used as a connection of the village of Jackson on U.S. 43. In the city center further the Alabama State Route 69 branches off.

History

The Alabama State Route 177 was from 1940 to 1957 the name of a route between Ashville and Leeds via Odenville. This road but was promoted to U.S. Highway 411 or rededicated to Alabama State Route 25. In 1970, the AL was assigned 177 its present course, after the U.S. Highway 43 was routed to a bypass route to Jackson.
