The Alabama State Route 23 (abbreviated AL 23) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Alabama, which runs in an east - west direction.

The State Route begins on U.S. Highway 11 east of Springville and ends after 19 kilometers in Ashville on U.S. Highways 231 and 411

Course

From the junction of U.S. Highway 11, the AL 23 extends first to the southeast and, after about a kilometer on Interstate 59 after a few kilometers it leads in a northeasterly direction, passing to the south to over 1000 meters high Barker Mountain. East of Cool Springs crosses the road, the Bucks Valley and ends in the center of Ashville.
