Alabama State Route 34

The Alabama State Route 34 (abbreviated AL 34) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Alabama, which runs in an east - west direction.

Course

The State Route begins at the Alabama State Route 77 in Talladega and ends south of Pell City on U.S. Highway 231 AL 34 is a two-lane country road in eastern Alabama. Except at the ends it encounters any other State Routes or U.S. Highways. The road also serves as a transport connection of the Talladega Super Speedway at the St. Clair County.

History

Originally proceeded State Route 1940-1956 by Florence to Tennessee border. This route was then to Alabama State Route 17 After changing the course of the Alabama State Route 48 to the current section, the number 34 was assigned.
