Alain Mikli
Alain Mikli SA is a French manufacturer of eyewear, based in Paris.
It was founded in 1978 by the French optician Alain Miklitarian. The company has its headquarters in Paris on the Rue de Campo Formio. The collections made by Mikli belong to the luxury products in optics and in place since the inception as provocative and trendsetting. Currently, the two main lines are sold:
- Alain Mikli
- Starck Eyes
This is a collaboration with the French designer Philippe Starck object. The products carry both names as opposed to licensed products. An earlier cooperation with the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake for an eponymous collection of Faltbrillen is discontinued at the time. Under the name " mikli studio" further collections were marketed, the company also young designers presented here their knowledge for the production and distribution available. It was to be:

The company employs approximately 300 employees and generates annual sales of approximately sixty million euros. The main markets are France ( sales company mdf ( mikli diffusion france ) ), Japan ( mikli kk) and China and the United States ( mikli ltd). mdf is responsible for sales in all of Europe except for the German speaking countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Scandinavia. For the first-mentioned countries is the " alain mikli Switzerland AMS AG " based in Lupfig responsible, Scandinavia is supervised by " noxious " in Stockholm.
Alain Mikli operates, since 1987, retail stores under its own name. In these shops, which are regular optical shops, and were designed and built by Philippe Starck, besides its own glasses and accessories, clothing and bags of the brand " alain mikli " were expelled. In Germany since 2001, there is a private label store on King Avenue in Dusseldorf. The Berlin store was sold in 2011 to the Managing Director and converted into a shop-in- shop.
On November 2, 2012, signed with the Italian eyewear manufacturer Luxottica a contract that provides for the acquisition of 100 % shares of alain mikli group. The takeover of the group by the Italian manufacturer was then carried out in January 2013. Both luxury brands " alain mikli " and " starck eyes" are two other luxury brands of Luxottica Group " Oliver Peoples " and " Paul Smith " to a separate business entity with name "Atelier " summarized and out of Los Angeles and Paris ( for Europe).
