Alain Terzian

Alain Terzian ( born 2 May 1949 in Paris ) is a French film producer and a film and official of the association.

Training and production activities

The son of Armenian immigrants had studied political science at the Paris Institut d' études politiques and at the Université de Paris II. In 1970 he joined the production company film 13, where he had worked in several functions, and 1977 Adel Production. There he was employed for two years. In 1980, Terzian with the T.Film his first own production company, in the following year was with Messine Productions another company of the native Parisian.

Terzians productions are usually high-quality entertainment films with film stars of the 1980s and '90s. His output includes both comedies and action films and thrillers. Occasionally, he also guest-starred in his productions.

Activities as a film functionary

Terzian busy ( e) as a functionary, a number of posts within the French film industry. He was, for example, Vice President and later President of the National Producer's Association and President of UPF Blic (Bureau de liaison de l'industrie cinématographique ). From 1994 stood Alain Terzian as President of the Commission nationale du film before, he is since 2007 President of the Académie des arts et techniques du cinéma, which is responsible for the award of the most important French César Film Awards. Since 2010, Alain Terzian member of the Conseil économique, social et environnemental. He is also the administrator of the Film Festival of Cannes.

Awards and honors

Terzian is an officer since July 2004 and since 2012 Commander of the Legion of Honour, Knight Commander of National Order of Merit and the Médaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris. He also carries the title Knight of Arts and Letters.

Political commitment

2012 supported Terzian vain Nicolas Sarkozy in his struggle for re-election as French president. To Terzians colleagues from the French culture or scene included in the spring of the same year, among other things Gérard Depardieu, Charles Aznavour and Claude Lelouch.
