Alan Hollinghurst

Alan Hollinghurst ( born May 26, 1954 in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England ) is a British writer.

Hollinghurst studied English language at Magdalen College, Oxford. Where he teaches at the University College and was a member of the literary magazine The Times Literary Supplement.

In 1989 he received the Somerset Maugham Award and the Gay and Lesbian Book Award for his work The Swimming - Pool Library and the 2004 Booker Prize for his novel The Line of Beauty.
