The parliamentary election was held in Åland 1979 on 20 October 1979.
The center newly formed walked out of the election as the winner. Made the party had from the land and archipelago - election Association ( LOS). In the new parliament, the Center received 14 of the 30 seats. The second strongest force were the liberals. This party was created in 1978 from the merger of LOT liberals and the liberals of the middle.
Among the 30 MPs there were only two women so that as many as in the previous term of office.
