The Institute of the Regions of Europe ( IRE) is a scientific institution based in Salzburg ( Austria ) and is part of the Institute of the Regions of Europe, founded in 2004 (non-profit ) private foundation.

Objective

The Institute of the Regions of Europe ( IRE) was established on 1 December 2004 by the former Salzburg governor Franz Schauberger with the aim to create a forum for European regions, municipalities and businesses. With the establishment of the IRE, a national and non-partisan institution was created, which arises in the enlarged Europe is the increasing importance of the regions and communities - also on the basis of the Lisbon Treaty - to take into account, reduce existing information deficits, the diverse to accept problems and to try to utilize the economic potential of regional and supra-regional cooperation of European Regions. Internship Program

The IRE offers young people from all European regions the opportunity to complete an internship at the Institute in Salzburg. The IRE leads to its own " internship program " through.
