Albert Band

Albert belt ( born May 7, 1924 in Paris, † June 14, 2002 in Los Angeles ) was an American film producer and director.

Life

Band started in the film business as an editor for Pathé; since the 1940s, he worked in Hollywood, first as assistant director, for example, for John Huston. Later he produced himself and moved his center of vital first to Sweden, then to Italy, where he was one of the pioneers of European produced U.S. Western, Sergio Leone to created a new type of genre. In 1970 he went back to the States and started the following decade to build up the production company Empire Pictures with his son Charles. Since 1956 he also directed a few films himself

His second son is the composer Richard band.

It is sometimes given as a birth name Alfredo Antonini.
