Albert Leman

Albert Semjonowitsch Leman ( Lehman ( n ), Russian Альберт Семёнович Леман, born 24 Junijul / July 7 1915greg in Volsk, .. † December 3, 1998 in Moscow) was a Russian composer.

Leman was in Leningrad composition student of Mikhail Fabianowitsch Gnessins and Vladimir Vladimirovich Nilssen. 1941-42 he headed the music department at the Leningrad administration on Arts of the Leningrad executive committee. Since 1942 he lived in Kazan and worked at the Conservatory (since 1945: Professor ). In 1964 he became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Since 1971, Leman was a professor and worked until 1997 as head of the chair of composition at the Moscow Conservatory. Among his pupils were among other gamma Skupinsky, Alexander Raskatov, Emilian Sichkin, Sergei Zagny and the Mongolian composer Sansargereltekh Sangidorj.

Leman has composed a symphony, a symphonic suite above Tatar topics, a festival overture, three piano and two violin concertos and a cello concerto, three Präludienzyklen for piano, two oratorios, incidental music, romances and songs.
