Alexander Raskatov

Alexander Mikhailovich Raskatov (Russian Александр Михайлович Раскатов; born March 9, 1953 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian composer.

Alexander Raskatov, a son of the leading journalists of the magazine " Crocodile", studied composition at the Moscow Conservatory under Albert Leman. In 1978 he completed his studies and graduated from a four-year graduate course. 1990 was Raskatov Composer in Residence at Stetson University in 1998 and curls house. The early 90s, he settled in Germany.

In Raskatows sound development and concentrated material treatment, influences of Stravinsky and Webern show. For his vocal works, he still likes to Russian poetry, for example, Blok, Khlebnikov or Brodsky.
