Albert of Pisa

Albert of Pisa (c. 1200 in Pisa; † on 23 January 1240 ) was an Italian Franciscan. He was the successor of St.. Francis the third Minister General of the Franciscan Order. Its predecessor was Elias of Cortona (1232-1239), his successor was Haymo of Faversham ( 1240-1243 ).

Previously, he was the successor of Agnellus of Pisa second provincial minister of his order in England. He had occupied in Germany and in England this office.

Life

Albert of Pisa in 1212 joined the Franciscan Order one. He was sent in 1219 with his brother to France, to open up a Convention. 1223, the Chapter of Mats in Assisi, he was Provincial of the new German province. He directed the provincial chapter in Speyer ( 1223 ), Würzburg ( 1224 ) and Mainz ( 1227 ).
