Alcides Araújo Alves

Alcides Eduardo Mendes de Araújo Alves, short Alcides ( born March 13, 1985 in São José do Rio Preto ) is a Brazilian footballer.

Club career

Alcides began his career at EC Vitória. For the 2003/04 season he was loaned to FC Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. There he could not prevail. From 2004 he played half a year for Santos on loan. In the summer of 2004, he was obliged from Chelsea for € 900,000. After a few test games but Chelsea loaned him out two years after Benfica. There he played regularly, but rarely came into play as well as hoped. On his return, he was immediately loaned out to PSV Eindhoven. With his new team, he became an instant masterpiece. After a few uses in his first season in the Eredivisie, he now had a regular place. At the start of this season Chelsea sold him to the Ukrainian first division club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk for an undisclosed transfer fee. So he took not a single competitive match for Chelsea. Since the beginning of the season 2012/2013 he is without a club.
