Aldrin (crater)

Aldrin is a small impact crater in the southern part of the Sea of Tranquility, east of the crater Sabine. It is located approximately 50 kilometers north-west of the landing site of Apollo 11 and about 30 kilometers west of the landing site of the lunar probe Surveyor 5
Named after Buzz Aldrin, the pilot of the lunar module Eagle of the Apollo 11 mission, he is the most westerly in a series of three craters that were named in honor of the crew of Apollo 11.
Before the renaming by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU ), he was known as Sabine B.
