Aleksandar Aleksandrov (footballer born 1975)

Aleksandar Aleksandrov Yordanow ( Bulgarian Александър Александров; born January 19, 1975 in Plovdiv ) is a Bulgarian footballer who currently plays for Levski Sofia in Bulgaria. His nickname is Alex. His position is attacking midfield. In 1999 he was player of the year in Bulgaria.

Career

Aleksandrov began his career in 1985 in the youth team of Maritsa Plovdiv in his home town of Plovdiv. From 1993 to 1997, he completed 87 games in the professional field of Maritsa and 33 times met this goal. 1997 Levski Sofia was first noticed him and signed him. In four years at Levski, he won two times the cup and one times the championship. After 79 games and 25 goals for Levski he joined in 2001 for the first time in Turkey to Kocaelispor. After several stations in Turkey in 2007 he came back to Bulgaria to Cherno More Varna. After playing there for two years, with 65 games and 27 goals, he moved in January 2010 after ten years back to Levski Sofia.

National

Aleksandrov played between 1998 and 2003 ten caps for the Bulgarian national football team. His first international game he played on 10 October 1999, the 3-0 win over Bulgaria Luxembourg.

Although Aleksandar Aleksandrov is not very well known outside Bulgaria, he won a few titles in his career. His biggest award is the title awarded to him in 1999 Bulgarian Footballer of the Year.
