Aleksandar Karakašević

Aleksandar Karakasevic (Serbian: Александар Каракашевић, born December 9, 1975 in Zemun, Serbia) is a Serbian table tennis player. His nickname in the DTTL: King Kara.

Career

Karakasevic regarded as the best Serbian tennis players and has successfully participated in numerous tournaments. Since 1995 he was represented at twelve world championships. He is the son of Yugoslav champion player Milivoj Karakasevic. In 2000 he moved from club STK Uzdin to Germany for TTF Ochsenhausen. Here he played a season and then joined the SV Pluederhausen.

In 2007 he won for the third time the U.S. Open in Table Tennis. He took part in the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Great successes he achieved, above all, in duplicate and in mixed on the side of Lithuanian Rūta Paškauskienė, with which he could 2000, 2005, 2007 and 2009 to win the European title. With the SV Pluederhausen he won in the 2008 / 09 season, the first time the DTTB Cup ( 3-1 in the final against Werder Bremen ) on the side of his teammates Jakub Koswoski and Leung Chu Yan in TUI DTTB Final Four Final in Hannover. He was also the profits of the ETTU Cup in the 2008/ 09 season against the Russian opponent Victoria Moscow involved ( first leg 1:3 Second leg 3:0); so has the SVP brought the only team in the history of ETTU Cup title three times ( 2002, 2005, 2009). Beginning of 2013 was interrupted by a tear of the Achilles tendon Karakaševićs career, so he was released by the club at the end of the season.
