Aleksandar Protogerov

Aleksandar Protogerow ( Bulgarian Александър Протогеров; born February 28, 1867 in Ohrid, Macedonia today, † July 7, 1928, Sofia, Bulgaria) was a Bulgarian military, politicians, freedom fighters, revolutionaries, Freemasons, and Chairman of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization, short IMRO.

Aleksandar Protogerow was born in 1867 in the lakeside town of Ohrid same name. After the liberation of Bulgaria, he moved, how many Macedonian Bulgarians in the Principality of Bulgaria free. In Sofia arrived he meldetet for the formation of the newly established military academy. At the Serbian -Bulgarian War of 1886 Protogerow participated as a volunteer. As part of a mobile unit ( Tscheta ) in 1902, he took part in the Gorna - Djumaya uprising, whose leader he was after wounding of Ivan Zontschew. Protogerow 1903 also took part in the Ilinden Uprising Preobraschenie. During the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913, he was Deputy Leader of Macedonia - Adrian Opel Volunteer Corps, Major General Nikola Genew.
