Aleksandr Privalov

Alexander Vasilyevich Priwalow (Russian: Александр Васильевич Привалов; born August 6 1933 Pyatnitsa, Rajon Solnechnogorsk, Moscow Oblast ) is a former Soviet biathlete.

Priwalow learned when he joined the army know the military patrol, this competition was there to the usual sports competitions. He had operated as a youth cross-country was from the shooting sports enthusiastic and began as a 23- year-old with the fledgling sport of biathlon. He competed for Dynamo Moscow and weighed to his active time 85 kg at a height of 1.83 m. Already in his first race he finished second by only two penalties. He qualified for the Sbornaja and participated in the Biathlon World Championships 1959 in Courmayeur part. In the victory of Vladimir Melanin he was eleventh. Successful Priwalow was the following year. He won the bronze medal at the premiere of Biathlon in the Winter Olympics in 1960 in Squaw Valley. Thanks to its strength in the shooting, he was Best of Soviet quartet behind Olympic champion class Lestander and Antti Tyrväinen and won the first Soviet biathlon medal. 1961 Priwalow won two silver medals at the World Championships. He was defeated in single Kalevi Huuskonen and was together with Valentin Pschenizyn and Dmitry Sokolov also second in the still unofficial relay competition behind the Finns.

Even more he profited from his shooting strength at the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck. Although he scored only the 16th term of less than 46 participants, he won thanks to flawless shooting performance the silver medal behind his errors also remained free teammate Vladimir Melanin and referred Olav Jordet in third place.

Priwalow was USSR champion in singles in 1960, 1961 ( questionable ), 1964 and 1965, and in 1966 with the squadron. After the end of his career, he completed a course of training at the Moscow Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, and became a coach. In 1966 he first coached the Soviet and later the Russian team. At the Olympic Games in 1968, 1972 1976 and 1980 he served as the acting coach of the Soviet Union, 1994, he was responsible for the Russian women's team. Priwalow is married to Jelena Priwalowa and has two children.
