Alessio Galletti

Alessio Galletti ( born March 26, 1968 in Pisa, † 15 June 2005 in the vicinity of Oviedo, Spain ) was an Italian cyclist.

Galletti was 1994 pro. He started his career with the team Lampre, switched to Panaria two years later and then drove 1997 and 1998 for Ros Mary Amore e Vita. In the latter, he won the first time a stage of one race: the third stage of the Tour de l' Ain. The following year, he joined the Saeco team, in which he remained for five years and two stage victories won, namely at the 2001 Tour Down Under and the 2003 GP Fred Mengoni. In 2004 he moved to Domina Vacanze.

During the 2004 came on doping charges against him during a police raid at the Giro d' Italia. In 2005 he drove for the team Naturino - Sapore di Mare.

Galletti died on 15 June 2005 during the Northern Spanish race Subida al Naranco than 15 km from the finish he rose from the bicycle to an increase and soon collapsed.
