Alexander Serafimovich

Alexander Serafimovitch (Russian Александр Серафимович; * 7 Januarjul / January 19 1863greg as Alexander Popov Serafimovitch Russian Александр Серафимович Попов in Nischnekurmojarskaja in the Don region, .. † January 19, 1949 in Moscow) was a Russian- Soviet writers and representatives of socialist realism.

Life

In the years 1874-1883 he graduated from high school in the Cossack village Ust- Medwedizkaja, later Serafimovitch. He then attended the physico- mathematical faculty of the University of Saint Petersburg. Here he also had contact with Alexander Ulyanov, Lenin's older brother. For by him after the attack Ulyanov on the Tsar Alexander III. authored pamphlet, he was arrested and exiled for three years after Pinega in the Arkhangelsk province. While in exile, he wrote his first story on the ice, in which he described the life of sealers on the White Sea. It was followed by the novels Snow desert and on the rivers.
