Alexander Vieweg

Alexander Vieweg ( born June 26, 1986 in Leipzig ) is a German javelin thrower.

In 2003 he finished eleventh at the World Junior Championships, and in 2005 was 75.85 m junior vice-European champion. In 2006 he had to cancel due to injury the season. In 2007 he was European U23 champion with 79.56 m.

On 13 July 2008, he improved the Grand Prix racing festival in Athens his personal record to 83.27 m. Two days later, Vieweg was nominated in the last round of nominations as the second German javelin thrower next to Stephan Steding for the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Alexander Vieweg has a competition weight of 95 kg at a height of 1.92 m. He started at SV Leipzig Ost with athletics and later transferred to LAZ Leipzig. When he was 15 years old, his family moved to Zweibrücken; there he joined the LAZ Zweibrücken. In 2006 he moved to SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken Schlaucom, where he is coached by Boris Henry.
