Alexandra Stevenson

Alexandra Stevenson ( born December 21, 1980 in La Jolla, California) is an American tennis player.

Career

The daughter of Julius Erving, who prefers to play on turf, began at the age of nine with the sport of tennis.

In 1997 she won the double with Marissa Irvin the U.S. Open juniors. In the final they defeated the pairing of Cara Black / Irina Seljutina 6:2, 7:6.

1999 Alexandra Stevenson became a professional player. That same year, she stood in the individual competition as sensational qualifier in the semifinals of Wimbledon. After victories over Amy Frazier, Olga Barabanschikova, Julie Halard, Lisa Raymond and Jelena Dokic she left there to Lindsay Davenport.

So far, they can show on the WTA Tour doubles title one. On the side of Serena Williams, she won the tournament in Leipzig in 2002. In the same year they reached their best position in the world rankings with 18th place. Common injury breaks they let slip away. In the individual, it also won an ITF title.
