Alexandre-Vincent Pineux Duval

Alexandre- Vincent Pineux Duval, called Alexandre Duval ( born April 6, 1767 in Rennes, Ille today's Dept -et-Vilaine, . † September 1, 1842 in Paris) was a French architect, writer and theater director.

Pineux Duval was the brother of the diplomat Amaury Duval and the writer Henri Duval. After school Pineux Duval began at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées ( ENCP ) to study architecture. Due to the political upheavals of his time (the French Revolution), he lost his place of study and turned away from that time to the theater.

Between 1810 and 1815, served as director of the Duval Pineux Théâtre l' Odéon, where he was able to stage his own compositions.

On 8 October 1812, the Académie française Pineux Duval chose as successor to the late writer Gabriel -Marie Legouvé ( armchair 4). He himself followed in 1842 by the philosopher Pierre -Simon Ballanche on this place after.
