Alexey Fyodorovich Orlov

Prince Alexei Fyodorovich Orlov (Russian: Алексей Фёдорович Орлов, scientific transliteration Alexei Orlov Fedorovic; * 8 ​​Oktoberjul / October 19 1786greg in Moscow, .. .. † 9 Maijul / May 21 1861greg in Saint Petersburg ) was a general of the Russian Army and a statesman.

Alexei Fyodorovich Orlov was the son of Fyodor Grigoryevich Orlov, Grigori Grigoryevich Orlov of younger brother. His only son, Nikolai Alexeyevich Orlov was born in 1820.

He distinguished himself in the French wars, was adjutant of the Grand Duke Constantine, then a colonel and commander of the regiment of the Guards on horseback. On December 26, 1825 his presence of mind did much to dampen the uprising of the Garden, to which he was elevated to the rank of count, was appointed adjutant general and the command of a cavalry division received, at whose head he distinguished himself in the Turkish campaign of 1828.

After he concluded the Treaty of Adrian Opel on 14 September 1829 he went as Ambassador Extraordinary to Constantinople Opel. In 1833, he appeared as a commander of the Russian troops landed on the Bosphorus again in Constantinople Opel and induced the Sultan to sign the Treaty of Hünkar İskelesi. Soon after, he became general of cavalry and a member of the Imperial Council, and in 1844 he received the supreme command of the police corps and the line of the secret police.

He accompanied Tsar on all his travels. His mission to Vienna in 1854 to win Austria for the Russian policy was unsuccessful. At the Peace Congress in Paris in 1856, he was successful as a Russian representative, was hereupon appointed President of the Reich and the Council of Ministers and collected on 7 September 1856 in the rank of prince. After he resigned from the chairmanship of the transferred him in 1858 serfdom Committee, he died on 21 May 1861 in Petersburg.
