Alexey Suetin

Alexei Stepanovich Suetin (Russian Алексей Степанович Суэтин, wiss transliteration Aleksej Stepanovic Suetin; born November 16, 1926 in Sinowjewsk; † 10 September 2001 in Moscow ) was a Soviet- Russian Grandmaster of chess (1965 ), as well as a well known author of chess books.

While Alexei Suetin never belonged to the best in the world, but he took part in ten USSR Championships and numerous international tournaments. He became world champion in the senior 1996 in Bad Love cell.

Suetin was coach and Sekundant various top grandmasters, including World Champion Tigran Petrosian, with whom he was preparing for various world championship bouts.

His best historical Elo rating was 2,701th This he reached in October 1970.

As a chess book author, he has published more than 20 works, mostly chess textbooks, opening surveys and books on chess master. In the band Typical errors Suetin undertook a categorization of common errors and analyzed the predominantly psychological elements of the game. For his latest book, Steps to Chess Championship, TOO Nowina, Moscow, 1998, ISBN 5-89036-069-8, was the author because of the insolvency of publishing his fee in books.

Alexei Suetin died in 2001 of a heart attack.
