Alexis Mendoza

Alexis Antonio Mendoza Barrina ( born November 8, 1961 in Barranquilla ) is a Colombian football player. He was defender and played between 1987 and 1997 67 games and scored 2 goals for the Colombian national football team. Mendoza is currently assistant coach of the Honduran national football team.

Career

National

Alexis Mendoza played a game in the 1994 World Cup and was nominated for the 1990 World Cup. He played four times at the Copa América 1987, 1989.1993 and 1995.

Association

Mendoza played most of his career for Atlético Junior. He also played for América de Cali 1990 to 1992, and won two Colombian football championships (1990 and 1992). 1993 Mendoza went back to Atlético Junior and won in 1993 and 1995, the Colombian football championship. In 1996, Alexis Mendoza at CD Veracruz, where he at the age of 36 years finished his career.
