Alfred Douglas-Hamilton, 13th Duke of Hamilton

Alfred Douglas - Hamilton ( born March 6, 1862 in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, † March 16 1940 in Dorset) was a Scottish nobleman, 13th Duke of Hamilton and 10th Duke of Brandon.

Alfred Hamilton was the son of Charles Henry Hamilton and his wife Elizabeth Anne Hill. He succeeded his distant cousin William Hamilton, 12th Duke of Hamilton 13th Duke of Hamilton in 1895.

Alfred served in the Royal Navy and distinguished himself there through daring maneuvers in aerial combat. In 1890, he was temporarily paralyzed by a disease, which zunichtemachte marriage plans with the only daughter of the 12th Duke of Hamilton.
