Alfred Hayes (Wrestler)

Alfred Hayes ( born August 8, 1928 in Windermere, England; † July 21, 2005 in Dallas, Texas) was a professional wrestler, wrestling manager and later commentator for the World Wrestling Federation.

Career

Alfred Hayes first operational judo and was the youngest British judoka, who earned a black belt. Later he was trained by Sir Athel Oakley to wrestler and debuted in 1950 in his homeland as " Judo " Alfred Hayes. In the 1960s, Hayes was allowed to, inter alia, the British Heavyweight Title and the European version of the World Mid- Heavyweight Title win. In 1971 he went to the USA, where he became, among other things in the Amarillo - League and the American Wrestling Association ( AWA). In 1976 he toured with the National Wrestling Alliance ( NWA) by Japan and stood there Giant Baba opposite.

In 1982, he joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), where he had to end his career a year later because of rheumatoid arthritis.

From 1984 to 1986, Hayes assistant to Vince McMahon in Tuesday Night Titans, a talk show in the WWF - style. Here he was mainly responsible for slapstick. Later he held the introductory announcements in Prime Time Wrestling. His nickname was " His Lordship " and he was often referred to as " Lord Alfred Hayes ".

Style

Hayes wrestled a technical style, with many actions from the judo range. As a finishing move he used an elevated cutter, which he called the Tower of London and the London Bridge Deathlock.
