Ali Babba bin Bello

Aliyu Babba ibn Muhammad Bello, Ali ( Babba ) ibn Bello (* 1808, † October 21, 1859 ), was the fourth Sultan of Sokoto in Nigeria. The son of Muhammad Bello and grandson of the founder Usman dan Fodio claimed the title Amir al - mu'minin and reigned from 1842 by 1859. He followed this with his brother Abu -Bakr Atiku I., he was again followed by Ahmad Atiku to the throne.

Under his reign, fall twenty campaigns to extend the boundaries of the Caliphate, as against Gobir, he also defended successfully against Sokoto uprisings of Kebbi, Zamfara and Dendi.
