Aliann Pompey

Aliann Pompey ( Aliann Tabitha Omalara Pompey; born March 9, 1978 in Georgetown ) is a Guyanese sprinter who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

In 2000, she was starting for the Manhattan College NCAA Indoor champion. At the Olympic Games in Sydney, she was eliminated in the flow, and at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001, she reached the semi-finals.

In 2002, she won at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. The following year, she won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, but came at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis not go beyond the first round. In 2004, she arrived at the Olympic Games in Athens in the semifinals.

After a preliminary round -off at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki they came at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin in front of each of the semi-finals.

In 2010 she finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and took two silver medals in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez, and at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. In the World Cup 2011 in Daegu she failed in the first round in the 2012 Olympics in London, she once again reached the semi-finals.
