Alison Johnstone

Alison Johnstone ( born October 11, 1965 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish Green Party.

Johnstone attended St. Augustine's High School in Edinburgh. Prior to her political career, she was Scottish champion in the 800 - and 1500 -meter run. She is the mother of a daughter and lives with her husband in Edinburgh. Since 1999 she has worked for the Greens MPs Robin Harper. In addition, she is an elected member of the Edinburgh City Council.

After robin Harper no longer took to the Scottish Parliament elections in 2011, Johnstone was set to the first rank of the Regional Evaluation of the Scottish Green Party for the election Lothian. As a result of the election results, the party could nominate a candidate, which Johnstone first moved into the Scottish Parliament.
