Alje Schut

Alje Schut ( born February 18, 1981 in Utrecht) is a Dutch football player. Since the summer of 2012, the central defender is the pro squad of South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

Career

Association

Schut has been part of the 1999 /00 to the senior squad of FC Utrecht. Previously, he played in the youth department of Feyenoord Rotterdam. After moving to the FCU he gave on 3 October 1999, his debut in the Dutch Eredivisie. In the 1-2 defeat against Roda JC Kerkrade the defender after 83 minutes came in to replace Pascal Bosschaart. By the end of the season he came up with three more league bets. In the two following years he admittedly came to more practice, but was always changing players, but also could score his first competitive goal for Utrecht. For the season 2002 /03 he was finally starting players. It was so far the only season in the Yellow graduated over thirty Eredivisie games. Already in the following year, he again lost his place among the starting eleven and found himself on the bench again. Very bitter was then the 2005/06 season, in which he did not deny an encounter. In 2003 and 2004 he celebrated his previous three single national successes. After you could conquer 2003 Feyenoord in the final of the KNVB Cup, the team repeated the success in 2004 and defeated Twente 1-0. Even before the start of the season 2004/05 FC Utrecht won for the first time, only the three big teams ( Feyenoord, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven ), the Johan Cruyff Schaal.

After 13 years at the FCU put the 31 -year-old for the season 2012/13 continued his career abroad. He joined the South African first division club Mamelodi Sundowns, who are coached by Schuts compatriot Johan Neeskens.

National

Schut was junior national team of the Netherlands. With the U- 18 of the Oranje, he took part in the European Championship in Germany 2000. He took part in two of three group matches. After a defeat, a draw and a win the team was eliminated in the group stage.
