Allan Massie

Allan Massie (* October 19, 1938 in Singapore) is a Scottish writer and journalist.

Life

Massie is the son of a rubber planter, who worked as a supplier to the company Sime Darby in Malaysia. His school days spent Massie in Aberdeenshire. He visited there on Drumtochty Castle (near Auchenblae ) a private school and moved to the Glenalmond College in Perth and Kinross later. Then Massie studied history at Trinity College ( University of Cambridge ).

At the instigation of Rab Butler Massie was recorded in 1982 as a member of the Royal Society of Literature.

Currently (2011 ) lives Allan Massie in Selkirk ( Scottish Borders ).

Reception

Since his studies Massie wrote regularly for many newspapers and magazines UK as The Scotsman, The Sunday Times, Daily Mail, The Daily Telegraph, Literary Review, The Independent and The New York Review of Books. Close to it is the years a literary autonomous oeuvre of novels and non-fiction books.
