Allar Levandi

Levandi Allar, Allar previously anti Lewandi Malevich (Russian Аллар Антивич Леванди; born December 28, 1965 in Tallinn ) is a former Estonian nordic combined.

Career

The greatest successes of his active career he was able to celebrate the late 1980s and early 1990s, when he was launched for the Soviet Union. Finally, after its collapse, he started for Estonia.

Levandi took part in three Winter Olympic Games, in 1988 for the Soviet Union, 1992 and 1994 for Estonia. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1988 with the third place in the individual race he managed the biggest success of his career. A year earlier he had been third in the 3x10km team competition at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 occupied together with Sergei and Andrei Chervyakov Dundukow in Oberstdorf. At the 1994 Winter Olympics, he missed along with Ago Markvardt and Magnar Freimuth in the team competition just an Olympic medal. The Estonian team finished fourth.

In the Nordic Combined World Cup Levandi was second with four and three third places in the 1989/90 season second in the overall standings. A World Cup victory he was not able throughout his career. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was unable to repeat his earlier successes first. However, in the World Cup season 1992/93 he was able to return once more to the world class when he was fifth overall. With his second place in Courchevel he brought also the first podium for Estonia. In the 1993/94 season he was once again tenth in the standings, but could not win a further podium more.

Allar Levandi is married to the former Soviet figure skater Anna Kondraschowa.
