Andrey Dundukov

Andrei Dundukow (Russian: Андрей Дундуков; born November 12, 1966 in Yuzhno -Sakhalinsk ) is a former Soviet Nordic combined. He was active from 1985 to 1992. Until their breakup, he started for the Soviet Union, then finally for the CIS.

Career

Dundukow made ​​his international debut on 23 February 1985 at the World Cup Nordic Combined in Leningrad. With a ranking of seven he jumped right off the bat in the top ten, and thus won the first World Cup points.

In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 1986 in Lake Placid Dundukow won the gold medal in singles ahead of Austrian Günter Csar and the Tschoslowaken František Řepka. Together with Vasily Sawin and Sergei Nikiforov, he won silver in the team competition behind the team from Norway.

At the beginning of the season 1985/87 Dundukow succeeded in Upper Wiesenthal was one point success with rank 14, although this was his weakest World Cup in a row. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1987 in Oberstdorf, he landed in the individual only to a disappointing 14th place for him. Only with the team he showed his qualities and won together with Sergei Chervyakov and Allar Levandi the bronze medal behind the teams from Germany and Norway.

In the 1989/90 season Dundukow started with a very good fourth in St. Moritz. During the season, however, he did not present himself to all the World Cup. In the season 1990 /91 and in the 1991/92 season, he started in only one World Cup. Despite a fourth rank in Trondheim and seventh in Štrbské Pleso it consistent for him in these two starts. This was due to the upheaval in the team after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
