Allhelgonakyrkan

The Allhelgonakyrkan ( All Saints ) is a church in the southern Swedish city of Lund in the same diocese. It is located about 600 m north of the cathedral at Lund and at 72 meters the highest building in the city.

Architectural History

Due to the strong population growth in the first half of the 19th century, the cathedral had become too small as Assembly Church. 1876 ​​decided the church leaders under the leadership of then- Bishop William Flensburg to build a new church. Heligoland Zettervall presented his first drawings in 1877 and 1887 began with the construction of the church in the Gothic Revival style. On All Saints' Day 1891, the church was consecrated as the first church meeting in Lund since the 12th century. Been renewed since the three bells, which were cast in Ystad and dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the church in 1966. Inventory

The altar is made of unpolished cement. Shown in the middle of a wooden crucifix, which is laterally flanked by Apostle John and the mother of Jesus.

All the windows were manufactured in Innsbruck. Particularly noteworthy are the high windows on the north and south sides of the choir. They deal with scenes of Christ's ascension from the Acts of the Apostles. The baptismal font is made ​​of polished cement and is located on the right side of the choir.

The organ was built by the organ builder Mårtenssons 1969. The instrument has 49 registers to four manual and pedal works. The Spieltrakturen are mechanical, the Registertrakturen are electric.
