Alliance for Climate Protection

The Alliance for Climate Protection was an American non-profit organization. It was founded in 2006 by Al Gore, Nobel Laureate and former Vice President of the United States. With more than five million members worldwide, Allianz was one of the largest non-profit organizations, which it had set itself the task of informing the world community about the urgency of implementing comprehensive solutions to the climate crisis.

The organization funded by donations. In addition to Al Gore, who donated the prize money among other things, the right conferred on him in 2007 the Nobel Prize of the Alliance, are among the millions of donors venture capital manager John Doerr and former eBay President Jeff Skoll. The proceeds of the Live Earth concerts benefited from an alliance initiated by the Foundation.

In March 2010, the project also founded by Al Large, The Climate Project, which was regarded as part of a grassroots movement, as a sub-organization in the alliance went on. In July 2011, the Alliance has been replaced by The Climate Reality Project as a successor organization.

The Alliance also had some sub-organizations, such as The Climate Project or Inconvenient Youth. She participated in many major projects such as Repower America.
