Alliance of Baptists

The Alliance of Baptists is an association of Baptist churches and individuals in the United States. It was founded in 1987 by Baptists, who split from the Southern Baptist Convention during a dispute direction in the 1980s between fundamentalists and modernists.

In the ecumenical movement is the Alliance of Baptists partner to the American Baptist Churches USA, the Progressive National Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The Alliance of Baptists is cooperating with the National Council of Churches in the USA ( National Council of Churches ), the United Church of Christ, the Christian Church ( Disciples of Christ ) and the World Council of Churches.
