Alloclita delozona

Alloclita delozona is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of the splendor butterfly ( Cosmopterigidae ).

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 11-13 millimeters. The head shimmers pale brown, the sensors are ocher and white striped dark brown. Thorax and tegulae are pale brown. The forewings are yellowish white, the first fifth is dark reddish brown and speckled brown. In the middle is a broad wings dark gray glossy fascia, it is constricted and surrounded by dark brown and reddish brown scales. The apical shimmers dark gray and has at the very tip sometimes a white spot. The fringe scales are grayish, mixed at the base more ocher with dark brown scales. The hind wings shining white and ocher towards the wing tip. There are ocher- gray scales on the veins ends. The fringe scales are ocher- gray. The females are usually darker than the males.

In the males, the brachium is slightly longer than the Tegumen and apically slightly curved. The Valven are quite narrow. The Valvellae are long, slender and club-shaped.

In females, the Apophyses are posterior quarter longer than the posterior Apophyses. The ostium has a large X-shaped sclerotization. The ductus bursae is about eight times as long as the corpus bursae and runs in a few turns. The corpus bursae is provided with indistinct comb structures and two crescent-shaped and thorny Signa.

Dissemination

Alloclita delozona is native to the Middle East from Egypt to India.

Biology

The biology of the species is unknown. Moths were collected in Saudi Arabia from February to March.
